Coneco was awarded this contract through a long-standing relationship between our survey staff and Milton Academy. Our staff has provided survey work at the academy for over 15 years. The latest contract was in support of their building renovation plans. This phase of the project involved the redesign of several structures to enhance the functionality and visual consistency of the architecture presented through the Wigglesworth Faculty Building and Warren Hall. Originally, the Link Building was constructed as a bridge between Wigglesworth and Warren Hall, and was later adapted to serve as an area for administrative offices. Milton Academy needed to replace this aging structure and desired to add space to the offices it housed, while blending the architectural styles into a consistent pattern. Coneco's work involved the development of baseline mapping, including the establishment of both horizontal and vertical controls; thorough mapping of all utilities and tie-ins; and location of building elements including: foundation, doors, windows, eaves, overhangs, finished floor and roof elevations, contouring of grounds around buildings. Coneco's survey teams worked with the client and their architect to ensure that the information necessary to complete the design for the new facility was collected in an accurate, cost efficient manner and with minimal disruption.
